God Shot
Judges 6-7
For as long as we live on earth, we will battle against sin. The battle against sin is not something we can win in our own efforts. In this week’s story, we see that Gideon was faced with a battle he could not win on his own. Gideon learned that victory comes from God alone. The same is trust for our battle against sin. Our salvation and victory over sin comes through faith in Jesus along. Jesus is the true Victor who gave His life to defeat sin and death on our behalf.
What ways do you try to battle sin on your own?
This could be trying without God, “making it up” to God by promising to do a good deed to pay for it, etc.
How do you battle sin with God?
By believing that Jesus already paid for that sin and asking God for the strength to not do it again.

Luke 12:22-34 | Where Your Treasure Is
Main Point: Don’t worry, treasure Heaven.
Point 1: Don’t worry.
It’s easy to worry about school, plans, sicknesses, what people think, etc., but Jesus is telling us that we should not worry.
Point 2: God cares about you more than the birds and fields.
When we worry, we forget that God cares about us. He takes care of the birds and fields, so why won’t he take care of us.
Point 3: Treasure God’s Kingdom.
We should not be like the man from the parable of the rich fool (vs. 13-21), but should be excited about Heaven.
To-Do 1: Remember God’s care.
Think of specific things that God has done in the past. Think of ways that God has taken care of nature.
To-Do 2: Look forward to Heaven.
Don’t do your work well to be rich and famous. Do it well to serve a God who is going to take you to Heaven.
