We believe in the role of Elders according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7, understanding the terms elder, pastor and overseer to represent the same role as ministers called by God to shepherd the church under Christ. Our church has a plurality of elders, mixing vocational and lay elders. Each of our elders is trained, tested and approved by the body according to these qualifications.

We believe in the role of a Deacon(ess) according to 1 Timothy 3:8-13; each is trained, tested and approved by the body according to these qualifications.

Our church utilizes deacons primarily through what we call the Deacon Family Ministry. Every member and active attender of Connection Church is assigned a deacon or deaconess. Their primary duties are to minister to the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the men and women who are assigned to them.
